0 Bar(s) Serving Neshaminy Creek Ecomis

Style: IPA
Origin: Croydon, PA
Brewery: Neshaminy Creek

Ecomis was born out of my love to two specific beers, Pizza Port’s Simcoe City IPA and Columbus Brewing’s Bodhi. I got the chance to pick Tony from Columbus Brewing’s brain about IPAs at one of their Philly Beer Week events this past June, and it only took about two minutes to make the connection between those breweries and those beers. Not only did Tony cut his teeth at Pizza Port years before heading to Columbus, but Bodhi is a hugely Simcoe forward DIPA. Makes sense, right? Not that brewing a Simcoe forward IPA is ground breaking, but when you make a connection like that between two breweries and beers with a similar background, especially ones you’re very fond of, you’re almost obliged to follow suit, right? I hope we did them both some justice on this side of the country. Ecomis DIPA is an 8.3%, limited, small batch, hop monster brewed with Apollo and Chinook for bittering, and focuses on the use of Simcoe in the middle flavor and late aroma hopping combined with Columbus for some more dankness and Calypso for some tropical and stone fruit additions. Dry hopped with 3.5 pounds of hops per barrel, a stupid amount of Simcoe and Citra hops were used over the course of two weeks and multiple dry hop additions. The end result is a massively dank, mouth coating resinous IPA with tons of lemon, mango, and tropical fruit flavor and aroma. It also finishes dry as a bone and leaves you craving for more. 8.3% ABV.
